DWSRF # 62596 – New Well and Treatment System

Over the past 10 years, The Hazy Hills Water Supply Corporation (HHWSC), City of Spicewood, has had 2 projects with TWDB where we received funding from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF).

The 1st project involved 2 Phases. First, being the Design and Planning for a new Water Well to improve capacity. Second, being the construction of the Water Well. The Design and Planning phase was totally funded by TWDB’ DWSRF and was completed in 2018. The water well was constructed and brought online in 2020. This phase was totally funded by HHWSC. The new Well has improved the water capacity by 2X, allowing the water system to remain operational and meet water guidelines from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

The 2nd project involved the demolition of the old concrete water tank. This tank had been decommissioned for over 20 years and has been deteriorating ever since, posing a safety threat. TWDB approved the use of the remaining DWSRF funds from 1st project. The concrete tank was demolished and removed in 2024. This eliminated the safety threat and provided much needed room for future water system expansion.
